Data protection policies

The European Digital Reading Lab (EDRLab) is a nonprofit association governed by French laws.
In France, personal data is protected by law no. 78-87 of January 6, 1978, law no. 2004-801 of August 6, 2004, article L. 226-13 of the Criminal Code and the European Directive of October 24, 1995.

General data protection policy

In accordance with the provisions of Articles 38 et seq. of the French Data Protection Act 78-17 of January 6, 1978, all users have the right to access, rectify, and object to any personal data concerning them by sending a written and signed request accompanied by a copy of the identity document bearing the signature of the document holder and specifying the address to which the reply is to be sent.

Right of access, rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing can be exercised by contacting GDPR referent at the email gdpr @ edrlab.org.

EDRLab does not transfer personal data to third parties, third countries, or international organizations unless clear consent is collected.

Data Protection policy related to the data we collect within surveys

For the operation of projects, EDRLab can collect data through surveys. Those data collections are designed to collect as few personal data as possible and when an identification is necessary for the good of the project, an informed consent is collected.

Unless a specific divergent information, all data collected thru surveys are deleted 360 days after the end of the project.

Data Protection policy related to the use of our websites

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data indicated in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser’s user agent string, in order to facilitate spam detection (via Akismet).

If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any subsequent comments, rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.

An anonymized string of characters created from your e-mail address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. Once your comment has been approved, your profile photo is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

During use of the https://www.edrlab.org/ website, the following information may also be collected: the URL of the links via which the user accessed the https://www.edrlab.org/ website, the user’s access provider, the user’s Internet protocol (IP) address. This data is used in particular by Google Analytics to provide information on website traffic.

Users supply this information with full knowledge of the facts, particularly when they enter it themselves. No personal information concerning the user of the https://www.edrlab.org/ website is published without the user’s knowledge, nor is it exchanged, transferred, ceded or sold on any medium whatsoever to third parties.

The site is not registered with the CNIL.

Databases are protected by the provisions of the law of July 1, 1998 transposing directive 96/9 of March 11, 1996 on the legal protection of databases.
