EDRLab is excited to announce eBOUND Canada as a new member of our community. This partnership promises to enrich collaboration within the Canadian and international publishing ecosystem. This initiative highlights our joint commitment to the creation, discoverability, and dissemination of accessible digital content and will leverage our mutual commitment to undertaking cutting-edge research and identifying industry best practices.
eBOUND Canada is a leading digital service provider supporting Canadian publishers. Their focus on quality, accessibility, and creating inclusive reading environments is essential in today’s diverse literary landscape. Most recently, they researched and launched the eBOUND Digital Certification (eDC), which ensures that newly created content aligns with international standards, as those supported by EDRLab’s Qualebook rules. Through their expertise and innovative approach, eBOUND Canada plays a key role in shaping the ebook ecosystem, ensuring that diverse reading needs are identified and met. This partnership will support publishers worldwide seeking to enhance their digital production workflows through this certification service.
Through this new membership, EDRLab and eBOUND Canada look forward to deepening collaboration in areas such as international standards alignment and publisher support. These efforts are essential to advancing industry best practices and align closely with EDRLab’s initiatives around technologies such as the Readium toolkits, Thorium Reader, and the ongoing evolution of EPUB formats. By working closely together, we aim to empower publishers and readers in Canada and beyond, fostering a more cohesive and effective digital reading environment.
This partnership is poised to support the development of a sustainable, user-friendly, and future-ready digital reading ecosystem. Our shared goal is to dismantle technical barriers that hinder the reading experience, enhance accessibility for readers of all abilities, and expand the international reach of born-accessible publications.
Welcome, eBOUND Canada, to the EDRLab community!
